Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
1:30 P.M., THURSDAY, May 6, 2010

A little over a week ago, I used this blog space to send out a request to Baylor fans. And as always, you showed and proved that you do care.

Just a week before the funding deadline, Baylor Athletics Chaplain Wes Yeary and the rest of the 28-member Kenya Ministry Team were still about $30,000 shy of the $90,000 needed to fund the two-week trip to Nairobi, Kenya.

And while the deadline has come and gone, I praise God and the Baylor family for the work that's been done. Wes let me know that as of today, $85,000 had been raised, "leaving us about $5,000 short (and) I know of four gifts still coming. Pretty exciting!"

It is indeed. So thank you for answering the call.

This year's team, which includes seven football players, five from volleyball, three each from soccer and women's basketball and one each from men's basketball, equestrian and track, will leave next Sunday, May 16, for the two-week mission trip.

So please pray for the group before and after the trip. And if you are still interested in supporting the Kenya Sports Ministry Team or any of the other Baylor University Missions teams, you can make online donations at or send donations by check to:
