ESPN's Bruce Feldman Has a Hunch on Baylor
10:33 A.M., THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2009

CHRIS YANDLE (E-MAIL)

ESPN The Magazine senior writer Bruce Feldman likes what Baylor head football coach Art Briles has done in Waco and is very optimistic on 2009:

Art Briles' team will have 16 starters back, including QB Robert Griffin, a dynamic talent who has made this program relevant again. Briles has surrounded Griffin with some speedy playmakers, and 350-pound Penn State transfer Phil Taylor will anchor the defense. To say Briles has big expectations for Taylor would be an understatement. When I spoke to the coach a few months ago, he said he'll be disappointed if Taylor doesn't make the All-Big 12 first team this season. My hunch is Baylor will match last season's win total by mid-October.

Read the rest of Feldman's teams most likely to be most improved in 2009.

Quick French lesson: Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler is Cajun French for "Let the Good Times Roll" which the Baylor Bears baseball team will be doing this weekend at the NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge (French for Red Stick). LSUSports.net is previewing each of the three visiting regional teams, including the Bears which it previewed Tuesday (graphic courtesy of LSUSports.net). And, if you can't make it to LSU's Alex Box Stadium, it's ok - all games of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional will be televised on Cox Sports Television (CST). CST has affliates in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Florida, so check your local listings.

Move Over FCP; The Bear Days of Summer are Here (at least for a few months)
3:07 P.M., TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2009

CHRIS YANDLE (E-MAIL)

After chronicling nearly every move during the Bears' historic NIT run that concluded on the Madison Square Garden hardwood, the blogger formerly known as Full Court Press (FCP) along with his merry band of gypsies have officially transitioned to his temporary summer home, Bear Days of Summer. While the spring semester has wrapped and campus life - for the most part - is dormant, the hallways of the Simpson Center still radiate with a familiar buzz...Even when there are no student-athletes around, Baylor Athletics continues to march on towards the 2009-10 season.

And, that's where we come in. For the next few months - give or a take some time - we will give you a special and somewhat in-depth view into the summer goings-on along S. University Parks Dr. We will fill you on things old and new and we may even throw in a photo or two.

The 2008-09 season may have just ended for most of our sports, but for baseball, track and field and men's golfer Cody Paladino, the season continues.

So, without further digression, we hope that enjoy our glimpse inside 1500 S. University Parks Dr. during the Central Texas summer. Be sure to check back early and often as FCP and that guy known as Wednesdays With Webguy, Brad Sheffield for the latest and greatest news of Baylor Bears Athletics.

Sic 'Em, Bears.
