Picture Day
4:45 P.M. THURSDAY, Sept. 30, 2010

The Lady Bears had their picture day on Thursday. The girls wore their gold uniforms which are like last years but now are adorned with the blue NCAA basketball logo on the upper left side and on the shorts.

Numerous pictures were taken in the session that lasted over an hour. In addition to the traditional team shot with two rows, front row sitting and back row standing, Robbie Rogers from Baylor Photography also shot poses with the team in a "V" formation and a straight line team picture. All pictures were taken with both serious and playful poses.

Each class used their imagination to decide what they wanted to do for their group shots. I must say, the seven sophomores were the most creative and animated group. Does that surprise anyone?

Fans will see these pictures throughout the year as we will be using them in marketing pieces, game programs, etc.

Keepin' Up With the Lady Bears
11:05 A.M. FRIDAY, Sept. 24, 2010

Welcome Lady Bear basketball fans to the very first `issue' of Lady Bear Hoop Happenings, a blog devoted solely to Baylor women's basketball. I will be giving you periodic updates of what's happening with the Lady Bears.

For those of you who enjoyed MJ's Musings, never fear, you will still get your fix of videos from MJ as well as others on the team. She has assured me that she has some special ones planned. This new format enables me to offer you both written blogs and video blogs on the Lady Bears. Check back often to see what's happening.

Fans can look forward to "Getting to Know the Newcomers" video segments soon. MJ will be interviewing Destiny Williams, Shanay Washington introduces you to Makenzie Robertson and Mariah Chandler visits with Odyssey Sims. Some things to watch for in those videos will be: 1) Why did Destiny choose Baylor and how does MJ feel about not having her own blog; 2) Why did Odyssey choose the #0; 3) What does Makenzie do in her spare time?

Did you miss the posting on the women's basketball page about our fantastic golf quartet that won the Kay Yow/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Cancer (WBCA) Fund golf tournament in Austin? Avid Lady Bear fans Kyle Stevens, Nanette Wheelis, Kem Barrett and John Derrick beat out a team of coaches from both Texas A&M and North Carolina State to take top honors. Check out the story and picture HERE.

In addition, if you're a Twitter follower please visit my Twitter page HERE. I will tweet when there's a new blog entry. If you're not a Twitter follower, best get on board!

I think that's enough for my first blog, check back often.

Julie Bennett
