100th HOMECOMING
When the Cyclones and Bears square off on Saturday, it will mark the 100th homecoming celebration in Iowa State history. Iowa State and Baylor have met 10 times, splitting the series at five apiece.
SUCCESS BRINGS FANS
Iowa State set an all-time attendance record last season of 53, 647 fans per game. A record crowd of 56,800 showed up to see the Cyclones battle Kansas State on Oct. 13, an unprecedented 11th straight game with 50,000-plus in the stands.
LINEBACKERS LEAD THE WAY
Iowa State's defense is anchored by linebackers A.J. Klein and Jake Knott. Big 12 coaches voted Klein as the Big 12 co-defensive player of the year, while Knott earned first team all-conference honors. Both will play in their 46th career game when they face Baylor on Saturday.
BETTER THAN EXPECTED
The play of the Iowa State secondary has exceeded expectations. The Cyclones lost corner Leonard Johnson (now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and safety Ter'Ran Benton, but the play of relative newcomers has the Cyclones ranked 28th in the nation in pass efficiency defense.
PINNING THEM DEEP
Punter Kirby Van Der Kamp earned National Punter of the Week honors after dropping punts on the 8, 1, 16, and 20 yard lines against Western Illinois. So far, he has put 20 of 45 punts inside the 20 with only one touchback.

LONG-TIME OPPONENTS
Saturday's game will mark the 102nd meeting between Texas and Baylor in a series that dates back to 1901.
EFFICIENT POSSESSIONS
The Horns have scored on six of 12 possessions against Wyoming, seven of nine offensive drives vs. New Mexico, 10 of 13 vs. Ole Miss, six of 11 against Oklahoma State, and seven of 12 against West Virginia. On the season, the Horns have scored on 52.4 percent of their offensive possessions and registered TDs on 47.9 percent of their drives. Over the last 68 possessions, Texas has scored 36 times (52.9 percent).
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
In the first 14 seasons under Mack Brown, UT's offense produced 11 of the top 12 passing seasons, 12 of the top 14 total yardage campaigns, and the top nine scoring years in school history. The Horns have also averaged at least 200 yards both rushing and passing in four of the 14 completed seasons. During his tenure, the Longhorns have registered forty-two 50-point games and five of the top seven total offense games in school history.
SCORING SPREE
In the last three-plus seasons, the Longhorns have scored 50 or more points in six games, including 66 against Ole Miss this season. Texas averaged 39.0 points per game in the last decade (2000-09), which ranked third nationally and second among BCS conference schools. The Horns averaged at least 35 PPG in nine of the 10 seasons, including three seasons of at least 40 PPG. In 2005, UT set a then-NCAA record with 652 total points and a school-record 50.2 PPG.
BIG-PLAY OFFENSE
The Longhorns rank 38th nationally in total offense (446.0 YPG) and 10th in scoring (42.5 PPG) in part due to their big-play ability. So far this season, Texas has 12 offensive plays of 40+ yards with seven resulting in TDs. After six games last season, the Horns had seven plays of 40+ yards with only three resulting in TDs.
