Baylor signed what many, including head coach Art Briles himself, consider the school's best signing class in recent memory last week. The class brought national recognition to Coach Briles, who was named by ESPN.com as the nation's third-best recruiting head coach, as well as offensive recruiting coordinator Kendal Briles, who in addition to being named the 2013 Scout/FOXSportsNext Big 12 Recruiter of the Year was also honored by 247Sports.com as a "Top 50 Recruiter" nationally.

So let's take a look at where Baylor's 2013 signing class ranks according to the four major recruiting websites...

Comparing the team rankings to earlier seasons, the 2013 class is clearly Baylor's highest ranked class in the Briles Era, and for many seasons previous. All four recruiting sites ranked Baylor's class among the top 30 nationally as well as the top four in the Big 12 Conference.

Scout.com ranked Baylor's class 25th nationally (the highest of the four sites) and 247Sports.com ranked BU third among the Big 12 signing classes.

2013:
Scout - 4th Big 12, 25th national
247S - 3rd Big 12, 27th national
ESPN - 4th Big 12, 28th national
Rivals - 4th Big 12, 29th national

2012:
247S - 3rd Big 12, 24th national
Scout - 6th Big 12, 30th national
Athlon - 5th Big 12, 32nd national
ESPN - 5th Big 12
Rivals - 6th Big 12, 43rd national

2011:
Rivals - 8th Big 12, 46th national

Baylor passing game coordinator (receivers coach)/offensive recruiting coordinator Kendal Briles was named the Big 12 Recruiter of the Year by Scout/FOXSportsNext, as voted on by the Scout.com/FOXSportsNext Recruiting Staff, and was named a Top 50 recruiter by 247Sports. Briles helped the Bears ink 23 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent in what many believe is the best signing class in recent memory (ranked 25th in the nation by Scout).

"These are individual honors that reflect how well our staff as a team does on the recruiting front," Baylor Football Head Coach Art Briles said. "It's a team effort, and Kendal, like all of our coaches, is a great recruiter and a great representative of Baylor University. He has a good eye for talent, and a very engaging personality.

"What's most impressive about this is that when we decided that Robbie (Rhodes) and Quan (Jones) were our guys and they decided that Baylor University was their school, Kendal did a great job of developing and holding those relationships, and it paid off on signing day. A lot of tireless work and effort goes into recruiting, and we reaped the reward on February 6."

Scout/FOXSportsNext said, "Briles serves as wide receiver coach and offensive recruiting coordinator and ran point on inking Fort Worth (Texas) Southwest High 5-star wide receiver Robbie Rhodes. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder was the highest rated signee in the Big 12 and the highest rated recruit that Baylor has signed since the birth of Scout.com. Baylor finished with the No. 25 class."
