A full slate of activities greeted the Baylor football team on Tuesday, just a day before the Bears take on Illinois in the 2010 Texas Bowl. Tuesday's festivities started with a team luncheon that featured a few words by Art Briles and several members of the Baylor football team. After the luncheon, Briles, Robert Griffin II, Byron Landor and Danny Watkins met with members of the media, followed by a sitdown session with ESPN and ESPN radio talent and crew.

16 Baylor seniors, along with members of the Baylor spirit squad, spent the afternoon at the DePelchin Children's Center, the official charitable beneficiary of the Texas Bowl. After the visit to DePelchin, Baylor conducted a brief walk-thru at Reliant Stadium, before returning to the Westin-Galleria for a pep rally with hundreds of Baylor fans in attendance. The Baylor Bears stepped away from the gridiron to compete in the Rodeo Bowl against Illinois Monday night. Some of the events included the Touchdown Dance competition, Roping of the Mascot, and the Hay Bale toss. Afterwards the Bears enjoyed great food and good music before heading back to the hotel.

Many high school coaches, family members and a few former Baylor letterwinners took in Baylor's Monday morning practice at the Houston Texans' practice facility. One former Bear who took in the action was Houston Texans long snapper Jonathan Weeks. Weeks, in his first season with the Texans, has appeared in all 15 games for Houston serving as the Texans' primary deep snapper on all field goals and punts. Following the practice, several Bears met with members of the media to discuss their bowl experience thus far and the upcoming matchup vs. Illinois. The Texas Bowl is serving as a homecoming of sorts for more than 20 players currently on the Baylor roster who are from the Houston area. Elliot Coffey, Cameron Kaufhold and Tracy Robertson explain to why this is such a special trip back to their hometown.

The Baylor football team wrapped up its second day in Houston with a few hours of bowling, pool and other entertainment at Lucky Strike Entertainment in Houston. The Bears will get back to business with a 10:30 a.m. practice Monday morning.

For the second time in as many days, the Baylor football team continued preparing for the Illinois Illini with a Sunday morning practice at the Houston Texans Practice Bubble. Following practice, Art Briles headed over to KRPC Local 2 studios in Houston for a sitdown interview with sports director Randy McIlvoy and Illinois head coach Ron Zook. The Bears will wrap up its Sunday activities with a bowling event tonight at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Houston. Fans living in the Houston area can catch the interview tonight at 10:30 p.m. on KPRC Local 2.

Practicing in December for the first time since 1994, the Bears officially kicked off Texas Bowl week with a 3 p.m. practice at the Houston Texans' practice bubble on Saturday. Art Briles and the Bears practiced for an hour and a half before making its way over to the team hotel. Baylor will continue its bowl week with a Sunday morning practice again at the Texans' practice facility.

Fans looking to tailgate at Reliant Stadium before kick, can get started at 1 p.m. CST, four hours prior to the start of the game. All parking at Reliant Stadium will require a pre-purchased parking hangtag; you will not be able to buy any additional parking at the gate. Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: The Baylor Bears will be excited to celebrate Christmas this year. But four days later, they'll enjoy their long-awaited present. The Bears (7-5) on Sunday accepted an invitation to face Illinois (6-6) in the Texas Bowl, which will be played at Houston's Reliant Stadium. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. on Dec. 29.

Baylor will play Illinois in the 2010 Texas Bowl on December 29 in Houston, Texas. Baylor (7-5, 4-4 Big 12) became bowl eligible for the first time since the 1995 season when it beat Kansas State on Oct. 23. The Bears followed up that win by going on the road to win at Texas the following weekend, marking the first time Baylor beat Texas in Austin since 1991.
