BILLY W. WILLIAMS GOLF PRACTICE FACILITY AND CLUBHOUSE ![]() |
Possible because of the lead gift of the late Billy Williams and his wife Elaine and the support of the entire Williams family, the Billy W. Williams Golf Practice Facility includes a short-game and two putting greens, seven target greens and four separate tee areas located on 16.5 acres on University Parks Drive adjacent to the Willis Equestrian Center.
The facilities, planning and construction team included golf course architect Chet Williams and Associate Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations Joe Todaro, who are both Baylor graduates.
A golf course architect, Williams has worked with Jack Nicklaus on several projects and designed the No. 1 course in Texas, Whispering Pines, that has hosted the Big 12 Championships.
There is also vision for an adjoining team clubhouse with locker rooms, offices and meeting space for both teams, with fundraising underway.
This on-campus site will provide student-athletes easy access to other services that will improve performance and assist with academic success such as weight rooms, training rooms and academic tutoring in the Simpson Athletics and Academic Center.
