Complete Baylor List of Honorees

WACO, Texas- For the tenth consecutive semester, Baylor has produced a record number of Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll members, as 326 of its student-athletes, including 63 with perfect 4.0 semester grade-point averages, were named to the league's 2011 fall academic honor list. It marks the ninth straight term that more than 200 BU student-athletes received Commissioner's Honor Roll status.

Acknowledging all student-athletes, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for varsity sports sponsored by the league membership. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who had a 3.00 or better grade-point average in the previous semester. More than 3,000 student-athletes each semester have been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the league's 16-year history. Baylor has had more than 5,800 student-athletes honored since the Honor Roll began.

The cumulative grade-point average of all Baylor student-athletes for the fall 2011 semester was a 3.16, a school-record for any term and the seventh consecutive semester their cumulative GPA topped the 3.0 mark. All-told, Baylor had a program-record 130 student-athletes on the fall 2011 Dean's List, which is awarded to Baylor students with a 3.7 GPA, enrolled in at least 12 hours and make no grade lower than a C. In addition, 24 student-athletes earned their Baylor degrees during December 2011 ceremonies, 23 of whom earned bachelor's degrees.

Fifteen of Baylor's 19 varsity teams registered a fall 2011 term cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.00, led by women's soccer's all-time semester best 3.56 mark. Four Baylor teams---men's basketball (2.77), men's cross country (3.40), women's track & field (3.43) and softball (3.54) established all-time highs for any Baylor semester; while four others---baseball (3.15), women's golf (3.51), women's cross country (3.55) and soccer (3.56) broke their respective sports fall term grade-point average record.
