Ferrell Center Set For Busy Saturday

Jan. 19, 2006

With the prospects of two large crowds this Saturday for a separate admission men's and women's basketball doubleheader at the Ferrell Center, the Baylor Athletic Department is providing the following information to make each game as enjoyable as possible for fans planning to attend one or both contests.

Game Times and Ticketing

The Baylor men's team hosts No. 6 Texas at 3 p.m. followed by the No. 8 Lady Bears taking on the 17th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners at 7 p.m. Separate tickets are needed to gain admission into each game. The Ferrell Center Ticket Office will open at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and stay open throughout the day.

Ferrell Center

The Ferrell Center will be cleared out immediately at the conclusion of the men's game. There will be an approximate 15-30 minute turnaround time so that the arena can be prepared for the women's game. An average men's game takes approximately two hours to play so using this as a gauge, doors for the women's game should open somewhere between 5:45 and 6:00 p.m. Fans holding tickets for both games will be asked to vacate the arena following the men's game and re-enter for the women's game.

Shuttle Buses

There will be four shuttle buses running continually beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the crowd disseminates after the women's game. This parking option will provide the easiest access between games as a spectator. The garage can be accessed by taking Daughtrey Avenue off of University Parks Drive (from I-35 it will be a right hand turn) and entering the garage between 2nd and 3rd streets or by entering from LaSalle by taking a left on 3rd and a right on Daughtrey.

Parking at Ferrell Center

At the conclusion of the men's game, the parking lots outside of the arena will be cleared as quickly as possible. As the lots are being cleared from the men's game, there are plans to have one lane open for access into the Ferrell lots for patrons coming to the women's game and entering from either Daughtrey or LaSalle. But the best recommendation for fans attending just the women's game would be to monitor the men's game and when it concludes add on approximately 30 minutes before trying to enter the lots.
