The fall 2012 semester proved yet again that Baylor student-athletes dominate not only on the field, but also in the classroom. Sixteen of Baylor's 19 varsity teams registered a fall 2012 term cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00, outnumbering last semester's 15 teams. Three varsity teams set an all-time high term GPA, including softball with a 3.54, men's cross country with a 3.45 and equestrian with a 3.35.
As Baylor student-athletes continue to build a strong presence on the field, their hard work is noticeably transitioning into the classroom. "Ian McCaw asked us to develop a 4-year plan to prepare our student-athletes for the real world. With the help of our staff, student-athletes, coaches and faculty members we have created an atmosphere conducive to learning and preparing them for their future," said Bart Byrd, Associate Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Services.
