March is National Athletic Training Month
Help celebrate by following important injury-prevention tips.

The month of March has been declared National Athletic Training Month by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). The theme for this year is "Prevention: Avoid Injury- Stay Active."

The Baylor University Athletic Training Education Program and the Baylor University Athletic Training Staff ask that you help celebrate National Athletic Training Month by following these very important injury-prevention tips while participating in sports:

  • Before participating, see your physician for a physical exam.
  • Make sure you are in proper condition before starting any strenuous activities.
  • Drink seven to ten ounces of water or sports drink every ten to twenty minutes during activity.
  • Warm-up and stretch prior to exercise.
  • And finally, make sure you have access to a Nationally Certified or State Licensed Athletic Trainer.
