What steps should be followed if institutional memorabilia or autographed/donated items are requested to raise funds for a charitable, educational, or non-profit organization?
The process for handling donation and autograph requests is as follows:
A sport program or marketing department receives the request.
Either the sport program or the marketing department provides the Donation & Autograph Request Form via hand delivery, fax, mail, or email. Note: A PDF version of the form is available on BaylorBears.com.
The completed request form is returned to the marketing department. The marketing department forwards the form to the compliance office to ensure that the request is within NCAA regulations.
The compliance office approves or denies the request (from NCAA standpoint) and returns the form to the marketing department.
The marketing department fills the request in coordination with the sport program (if necessary) and notifies the requesting organization.
