For the 11th consecutive semester, Baylor has produced a record number of Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll members, as 304 of its student-athletes, including 65 with perfect 4.0 semester grade-point averages, were named to the league's 2012 spring academic honor list. It marks the 10th straight term that more than 200 BU student-athletes received Commissioner's Honor Roll status.

Acknowledging all student-athletes, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for varsity sports sponsored by the league membership. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who had a 3.00 or better grade-point average in the previous semester. More than 3,000 student-athletes each semester have been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the league's 16-year history. Baylor has had more than 6,100 student-athletes honored since the Honor Roll began.

In addition 121 student-athletes from Baylor's varsity sports were named to the 2012 spring Dean's. Dean's List recognition is awarded to Baylor students with a 3.7 GPA, enrolled in at least 12 hours and who make no grade lower than a C.

The cumulative grade-point average of all Baylor student-athletes for the spring 2012 semester was a 3.14, the eighth consecutive semester their cumulative GPA topped the 3.0 mark. Fifteen of Baylor's 19 varsity teams registered a spring 2012 term cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.00.
