DALLAS, Texas - Baylor University Athletics has a tradition of excellence and success in the classroom and in competition.

TXU Energy has a long tradition of exceeding expectations and supporting the communities it serves.

Those traditions have come together as TXU Energy becomes the official electricity sponsor of Baylor athletics. It's a perfect time to kick off the new relationship as Baylor NationTM celebrates its football tradition during a final season in Floyd Casey Stadium.

As the official electricity sponsor of Baylor athletics, TXU Energy is taking added family entertainment, Baylor-branded giveaways and electricity education to sporting events across the university, including Saturday's football season opener against Wofford College.

The company also will give away seat upgrades at each home game. Fans can sign up for their chance to win in the TXU Energy tent adjacent to the Baylor Alumni Network tent outside the stadium. The company will also provide misting stations to keep Bear fans cool during their pregame tailgating, as well as tips to keep Bear fans cool at home, too.

The partnership will enhance the game day experience and introduce Baylor University traditions to the family of TXU Energy customers. For example, fans attending the game on Saturday will notice the TXU Energy Meter, which will measure just how loud they can be in support of the Bears. Fans watching the games on television will enjoy the TXU Energy High Energy Play of the Game.

To further celebrate the university's strong family traditions, TXU Energy will be the title sponsor for the Sept. 21 Family Weekend football game against the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

"We couldn't be more excited about becoming part of Baylor tradition, supporting the university's winning teams, and bringing special offers and activities to Baylor Nation," said Michael Grasso, chief marketing officer for TXU Energy. "Sponsorships like these let us continue our tradition of providing strong support in the communities where we live and work. Bringing that support to Baylor Athletics also gives us an even greater presence in a growing Central Texas market and a strong connection with the ever-growing Baylor family."

Baylor Athletics Director Ian McCaw said TXU Energy's community involvement makes the company an ideal partner.

"We know our fans will appreciate the added spirit that TXU Energy brings to our events," he said. "TXU Energy is making a tremendous investment to support our programs and to add to the family-focused traditions here at Baylor University."
