WACO, Texas - Baylor University has hired Todd Patulski as associate athletic director for finance and administration, incoming Athletic Director Ian McCaw announced Friday.
Patulski, who will start at Baylor in early October, will oversee the athletic department's financial and administrative areas.
"Todd is a very talented administrator who possesses an extraordinary work ethic," McCaw said. "He will be a wonderful addition to the Baylor community."
Patulski was hired to replace David Taylor, who is leaving Baylor after working 20 years in the athletic department.
"David Taylor has provided leadership to the financial area of Athletics during a period of unprecedented growth," acting athletic director David Brooks said. "He has been loyal to Baylor and served well. I appreciate his service to Athletics and to Baylor University."
Patulski arrives at Baylor after five years in the Northeastern University athletic department, the last three and a half serving as associate A.D. for finance and administration. In 2002 he served three months as interim director of athletics at Northeastern, overseeing the entire athletic department.
At Northeastern Patulski handled the fiscal and administrative duties for the school's 19 Division I athletic programs. His direct responsibilities included financial oversight of athletic revenues, oversight of athletic financial aid resources, and management of all athletic accounts.
He also provided administrative supervision of corporate sponsorship, athletic marketing, game promotions, ticket operations, and the strength and conditioning and support staffs at NU. Patulski provided direction for the development of corporate sponsorship programs, assisted with corporate presentations, implemented marketing strategies and developed ticket pricing and policy. He also served as the department liaison with the University human resource management.
Patulski was hired at Northeastern in May 1998 as assistant A.D. for business and was promoted to associate A.D. in January 2000.
Prior to his stint at Northeastern, Patulski spent seven and a half years (1992-1998) as vice president at West Shore Bank in Scottville, Mich., where he managed consumer loan portfolios, marketed new loan products and collected delinquent accounts.
Patulski is a 1990 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He was a three-year letterwinner in track and field at Central Michigan, and served as team captain as a senior.
In 1994 Patulski graduated from Central Michigan's Perry M. School of Banking, receiving the Outstanding Student award. Patulski has a history of community involvement, including service with the Boston Police Department youth programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Michigan and Boy Scouts of America.
Patulski and his wife Rachel are the parents of three daughters: Lauren (7), Hannah (5) and Alicja (1).
