WACO, TX - Baylor University and Baylor Athletics are hosting the second Bear Growl at the Turner Riverfront Complex Thursday, March 31. This Baylor Bear Growl will showcase men's and women's golf, #14 track, #1 men's and #16 women's tennis, #10 softball and #19 baseball.
The Turner Riverfront Complex is the name for the area containing Baylor Ballpark, Getterman Stadium, the Baylor Tennis Center and the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.
Bear Growl is a university-wide effort aimed at bringing the Baylor family together to celebrate our unity and Big 12 Conference sports. Baylor students, faculty and staff are encouraged to gather at the Turner Riverfront Complex Thursday, March 31 beginning at 5:00 p.m. for FREE dinner and entertainment for all. All campus dining locations, except RFoC @ Memorial, will be closed at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will be available in front of Baylor Ballpark, followed by a spring sports rally featuring players and coaches from each sport. This will be a great opportunity for the Baylor family to have fun and witness the personal side of our coaches and athletes.
Dinner will include chopped beef sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, potato salad, Blue Bell ice cream and Dr Pepper. The entertainment will include live music by the Leon River Band, a welcome from Dr. Sloan, the Baylor Golden Wave Band, Baylor Spirit Squads and speeches from our Big 12 Championship-bound coaches and players! The program will conclude at 7:00 p.m., but dinner will be available until 7:30 p.m.
Free transportation will be provided. Two shuttles will continuously pick up in front of Penland Hall and drop off at Bear Growl. Shuttle service begins at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. If inclement weather should occur, the event will be moved to the Ferrell Center.
