WACO, Texas - With just 11 days left until kickoff, Baylor has sold more than half of its 11,000-ticket allotment to the Bears' first-ever meeting against UCLA in the 35th Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl, Dec. 27, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Kickoff for the nationally televised ESPN game between the Bears and Bruins is set for 8:45 (Central) from the home field of the NFL's San Diego Chargers.

"We are excited how the Baylor Nation has responded to our first out-of-state bowl appearance in more than 20 years, and are especially pleased that more than 700 of our students have purchased tickets to the Bridgepoint Holiday Bowl," said Baylor Executive Associate A.D./External Affairs Nick Joos said. "We are confident that the Green and Gold will be well-represented at Qualcomm Stadium, and while we have heard of many who have purchased tickets from other sources, encourage all Baylor fans who are still planning on attending the game to purchase their tickets from the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office this week."

BU fans who are unable to attend the Holiday Bowl but would like to purchase tickets from the Baylor allotment that in turn will be distributed by the University locally to active duty military, first-responders and others in the San Diego area, may visit www.baylorbears.com/tickets in order to purchase tickets for this special initiative. Baylor officials will work with the Holiday Bowl staff to get these tickets distributed to individuals and families in San Diego.

All remaining tickets in the Baylor allotment are priced at $65 each and may be purchased on-line, or ordered through the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office at 254-710-1000 or in person at the Ferrell Center box office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Baylor will be playing in a bowl game for the third straight season for the first time in program history. Head coach Art Briles previously led the Bears to the 2010 Texas Bowl and the 2011 Alamo Bowl. For more information on Baylor's trip to the 2012 Holiday Bowl, visit www.baylorbears.com/bowlcentral.
