Julie Bennett is in her 16th year with Baylor Athletic Media Relations and is primarily responsible for women's basketball and men's tennis.

Bennett is a 25-year sports information veteran. She has had stints at Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State San Bernardino, University of Nebraska-Omaha, Central Missouri State and the University of Hawai'i.

She has worked as a press officer at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the 1990 Goodwill Games and the 1994 and 1995 U.S. Olympic Festivals.

At Hawai'i, she directed press operations for the 1989 NCAA Women's Volleyball National Championships and performed the in the same capacity for the 1988 NCAA Division II Volleyball National Championships in Omaha. Bennett has also worked at and hosted numerous other NCAA and conference events. In addition, she recently served on the NCAA media staff for the 2006 and 2007 Women's Final Fours.

Bennett has won numerous national publication awards, including best in the nation for the both the 2005-06 women's basketball media guide and 2008-09 men's tennis guide and best cover for the 1997 softball guide.

Bennett has a bachelor's degree from Fresno State University and a master's degree from the University of Central Missouri. She is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) where she currently serves on the Committee on Committees. In addition, she is a member of the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and the Association of Women in Sports Media (AWSM).

She and her husband, Bruce, a retired Air Force Lt. Col., have four grown daughters and nine grandchildren. They reside in Bruceville.
