Davonte Anderson began his position as Associate Director of Student-Athlete Development on July 31st of 2017. He will be responsible for overseeing the character formation (leadership development, social responsibility, and financial literacy) area of Preparing Champions for Life.
Prior to joining the staff, Anderson was the Assistant Director of Student Athlete Welfare and Development at the University of Central Florida. In his role, he assisted in the management of all personal, career, and community outreach programming towards the holistic development of the UCF student-athletes.
Prior to joining the Knights, Anderson interned with the Stony Brook Athletics’ development team, assisting in furthering the program’s 5-year plan and launch of their new annual fund, Sea wolves United. During his time with the department he focused on connecting with alumni and supporters to build relationships by aligning donor's philanthropic interests with Stony Brook Athletics' strategic priorities. While interning at Stony Brook, Davonte earned his Master’s in Liberal Studies in 2015.
As a 2014 undergraduate of Stony Brook, Davonte was a 4-year starter, team captain and holds Seawolve’s football all-time interception record. Off the field, he was a member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Board (IAB), Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Athletic Director Search Committee, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Davonte is a native of Corona, California.
