Divine began his position as Academic Coach with the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence in August 2017. He is responsible for overseeing the academic progress for all offensive student-athletes on the Football team. Prior to joining the staff, Divine was an Academic Advisor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley overseeing Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Track and Cross Country. During his time in the Valley Divine help UTRGV reach a departmental best 3.14-year GPA, while also helping the Women’s Soccer Team Win the Athletic Director’s cup (highest team GPA) with a 3.56 GPA. In addition to overseeing 10 Winter Academic All-WAC Team honorees and 75 Athletic Director Honor Roll honorees.

Prior to UTRGV, Divine served as a Graduate Assistant at West Virginia University in the Office of Student Athlete Development. In his first year Divine was responsible for assisting freshman and sophomore Football players adjust to the academic rigor and time management of being successful Student-Athletes. In his year, Divine was an Academic Mentor for Freshmen and Sophomore Soccer, Baseball, and Wrestling Student-Athletes, as well as assisting with SAAC, helping the Academic Advisors with day to day responsibilities such as, initial and continuing eligibility, and monitoring day and evening study hall. While at WVU Divine received his Master in Sport Management, from their Top 5 Graduate Program.

Divine grew up in Hampton, Virginia and attended Old Dominion University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. While at ODU Divine served as the Head manage for the Men’s basketball team while also working with the Athletic External Relations department and the Student Engagement and Enrollment Services on campus.

More about Divine:
My mother Darlene and I share the same Birthday. I have two older sisters Chante, Destiny and a younger brother Darius. I like going to museums and watching nonfiction movies in my free time.
