ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS STAFF HONORED BY FWAA

PR staff among "Super 11" nationally recognized for servicing media during 2012 football season.

Sean Doerre is in his first year as assistant director of athletic communications at Baylor. He serves as the primary contact for cross country, soccer, tennis and track and field.

Prior to accepting the job at Baylor, Doerre interned for one year as a Will Hancock Communications Assistant with the Big 12 Conference. In that role, he handled the day-to-day communications efforts for equestrian, rowing, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis and wrestling. While working at the conference, Doerre helped implement initiatives to increase fan interaction across the league's social media platforms.

Before his time at the Big 12, Doerre spent three and half years as a student assistant in the Baylor Athletic Media Relations office. In his first stint in the BU athletic offices, Doerre was the primary contact for men's tennis and also helped with the sports of baseball, football, men's and women's basketball.

He graduated from Baylor in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a minor in Film and Digital Media.

Prior to entering the media relations field, Doerre honed his writing skills as a sportswriter with the Waco Tribune-Herald and Killeen Daily Herald. He served as the sustainability beat writer for the Baylor Lariat, while also writing for the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post.

Doerre is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
