Emily DeRatt joined the Baylor University Student Athlete Center for Excellence staff in July of 2017. Emily is responsible for tracking the academic progress of defensive and specialist football student athletes as well as softball student athletes. Prior to coming to Waco, Emily served as an Academic Advisor for football and women’s gymnastics at Temple University from August 2014 to July 2017.
Emily got her start in the academic support field at the University of Tennessee where she served as an academic monitor at the Thornton Athletics Student Life Center during her graduate school work. After earning her Master of Science in Sport Management in 2012, Emily began working at NC State University’s Academic Support Program for Student Athletes, first serving as the Assistant Tutorial Coordinator and then as an Assistant Academic Coordinator for men’s basketball, women’s gymnastics, wrestling and swimming and diving.
Emily is originally from Cary, North Carolina and earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from UNC Wilmington in 2008.

Having a meaningful impact on student-athletes on a daily basis. Impacting even just one of them gives them the ability to impact those around them. They also keep me laughing on a daily basis!
