Matt started his position as an Academic Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Track and Cross-Country teams in January 2016. In his first semester, the Men’s and Women’s track teams had the highest Spring term GPA for the previous 10 years. Prior to being an Academic Coach, Matt was a Learning Specialist working primarily with the Football Team. Matt originally came to Baylor as a Graduate Assistant and night time study hall monitor. Prior to his career at Baylor University, Matt was also a graduate assistant in the University of Tulsa’s School of Education.
Matt is a former Track and Field student-athlete and graduate from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. He double majored in Exercise Sports Science and Education. He is currently in his last semester of Baylor’s Sports Management program.
Matt is originally from Waco, TX and the son of former Baylor Track & Field athlete Larry Davis.
