In his first four years at Baylor, Sheffield served as the point person for all new media and technology overseeing the promotion and development of the Baylor Athletics' brand through the various forms of new and social media, including video and photo content, video-streaming, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs.
Sheffield joined Baylor after one year at the University of North Texas where he served as the media relations assistant. While at North Texas, Sheffield was the primary contact for swimming and diving and track and field, as well as the assistant contact for football.
Prior to North Texas, Sheffield was the Sports Information Director and Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing at the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, S.D.
A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Sheffield earned his degree in journalism-public relations in 2006. While earning his undergraduate degree, Sheffield spent two years as the sports editor for the SHSU student-run newspaper, The Houstonian.
Sheffield and his wife, Leslie, have one daughter, Emrie.
