WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – NATIONAL CHAMPIONS:
On April 5, 2005, the Baylor Women’s Basketball team became the second Baylor team to win a National Championship in less than one year. This is the first National Championship for a women’s team in Baylor history. The team made a commitment at the end of the 2004 season and began training in June for the 2004-2005 season. By commitment, dedication and the will to “Finish the Job,” the Lady Bears rolled through the NCAA Tournament, winning each game by an average of 14 points and showed no signs of weakness or fatigue.
