Our goal is to become the premier athletic performance department in the country. The backing we receive from our coaches, support staff, and administration is the cornerstone of helping us move towards this goal. This, of course, is in addition to the hard work and dedication we have come to expect from our athletes, as well as, ourselves. With a work ethic that is second to none, coupled with a relentless pursuit of new ideas and technology, our department will remain on the cutting edge of athletic performance.

Our department has three primary goals when working with student athletes.

    1. Prevent Injuries. Healthy muscles and joints decrease the chances of injury. When an injury occurs a well conditioned, well trained athlete will not only recovery from the injury but spend less time in limited participation.

    2. Enhance Sport Performance. This is achieved through program design which emphasizes strength, speed, power, agility, flexibility, body composition, nutrition and sport specific conditioning.

    3. Improve Mental Development. To develop the ability to maintain a high level of focus, maturity, accountability, responsibility, discipline, competitiveness and loyalty. To minimize distractions and deterrents to personal and team performance. In addition to the physical gains, the mental development achieved will excite the athletes and raise the level of athletic confidence, preparing them to compete and succeed against anyone in the Big 12 Conference.
