All-Girl Cheer
The All-Girl Yell Leaders (cheerleaders) are the newest addition to the Baylor Spirit Squad Program which began in 2004. The All-Girl Yell Leaders promote Baylor Spirit by performing at all home football games, volleyball games, and all home basketball games, as well as select away football games.
They are also given the opportunity to travel to the Big 12 Basketball Tournament, NIT, and NCAA Tournaments. The All-Girl Cheerleaders are not a competitive team, however they do perform at special events throughout the year, including homecoming (www.baylor.edu/homecoming) University pep rallies, and community appearances.
Practices:
The All-Girl Cheerleaders typically practice twice a week in the evenings.
Workouts:
To help ensure that our spirit squad members remain healthy mentally/physically as well as help prevent injuries, our squad lifts weights and works out with two certified athletic trainers twice a week in the new Simpson Athletic Building.
Auditions:
Auditions are typically held in mid-April each year. There is no maximum number of cheerleaders we can allow; this year alone we have 26 brilliant, talented, and outstanding women. All interested applicants will be required to attend at least ONE of our college prep clinics prior to auditioning for the 2010-2011 school year.
Please stay tuned for more info and details on both our auditions and college prep clinics.
