T&F Closes TCU Invitational With Three Event Wins

Men's squad produces three title-winning performances Saturday in Fort Worth.

• 2017 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team
• Two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection

2017 Cross Country: Raced in five meets during sophomore season which included her best finish at the Ken Garland Invitational…Finished 23rd in 20:38.8 on the 5K course….Opened season with top-30 showing at the Bear Twilight Invitational with a 4K time of 14:57.4…Finished 174th at the Joe Piane Invitational with a time of 19:00.6 (5,000m)…Had top-225 finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational on the 6K course (24:15.6)…Ended her season finishing 76th at the Big 12 Championship on the 6K course…Named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.

2017 Track: Competed in two events during the outdoor season, running at three meets…Had top 20 finishes in the 3,000 meters at TCU and Baylor Invitationals, setting a personal-best mark of 11:03.01 in Fort Worth…Finished in the top 30 of the 1,500 meters at the Michael Johnson Invitational (5:09.36)…Did not compete in any indoor meets…Named to Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team…Earned spring Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition.

2016 Cross Country: Participated in four meets during freshman season…Opened collegiate career with top 60 finish at the Bear Twilight Invitational, running the 4,000 meters with a time of 16:08.6…Set season-best mark in the 5,000 meters at the Ken Garland Invitational (20:46.9)…Was a scoring runner at the Aggieland Open, finishing the 6,000 meters with a time of 25:16.8.

High School: Two-year member of cross country team at Peoria Christian School in Peoria Heights, Ill., for head coach Brian Backstrom...Won individual conference title in senior season...Was member of team as sophomore that won conference team title and finished fifth at district...Named captain and MVP of cross country squad in senior year...Four-year member of Charger soccer team earning Silver Boot honor for having most assists in senior year...Set personal bests of 5:43.06 (1,600m) and 18:49.8 (3 miles)...Member of National Honor Society.
