ORLANDO - Baylor's track and field team completed a light first day of action at the UCF Invitational on Saturday in Orlando, Fla.

The opening day of the two-day meet featured just three events in the field and two on the track. Baylor competed in just the javelin, hammer and long jump on the day.

In the long jump, Jessica Ubanyionwu posted an outdoor career-best of 19-3.5 to place seventh overall. On the men's side, Hayden Loudenslager led the way with a ninth-place finish at 22-4.5.

Sophomore Jasmine Adekoya had a good day in the hammer, nearing her personal best with a mark of 161-4 to place eighth overall.

In the women's javelin, sophomores Taylor Torres and Lauren Rover finished 11th and 12th, respectively. Torres had a best of 120-2, while Rover was one spot back with her mark of 118-2.

Baylor will be back on the track at the UCF Invitational on Saturday for the final day of action. Field events will begin at 9 a.m. with the women's discus, while events on the track will start at 12:30 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay.
