BATON ROUGE, La. - The Baylor track and field teams added three more relay championships and one individual title on the second day of competition at the LSU Relays on Saturday at Bernie Moore Stadium.
In the final event of the day, Baylor won its 37th-straight race in the men's 4x400-meter relay, recording a season-best time of 3:04.93, a 2009 collegiate leader and the second-fastest time in the world this season.
Baylor also swept the men's and women's distance medley relay, with the women cruising to a 28-second winning margin with a time of 11:59.55. The men's squad clocked a time of 10:17.65, as anchor Ben Haby, made a strong kick over the final 200 meters to edge Grambling at the finish line.
The Bears nearly won their fifth relay title of the day as the men's 4x100-meter relay ran a dead heat with LSU to begin the day. After a photo finish, it was determined that LSU edged Baylor at the finish line by one-thousandth of one second.
The women's 4x400-meter relay made a strong showing to end the day, finishing as the top collegiate team in the field, falling to a group of professionals after posting a season-best time of 3:35.27.
Baylor returns to action next weekend as the Bears travel to Austin, Texas to compete in the 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
