The Baylor men's sprint medley relay team of sophomore Jeremy Wariner (Grand Prairie, Texas), sophomore Jamen Saziru (Waco, Texas), junior Darold Williamson (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore Will Fitts (DeSoto, Texas) finished second with a time of 3:15.01 to highlight the Bears' third day of action Friday at the 77th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Sophomore Angela Marvin (Kingwood, Texas), the defending Big 12 champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocked a regional qualifying time of 10:52.75 in the event, while freshman Brittany McGuire (Humble, Texas) ran 11:40.47. Junior Lakadron Ivery (Tyler, Texas) won her heat in the 100 meters with the third-fastest time of 11.48 to qualify for Saturday's final, while junior Elizabeth Wilson (Duncanville, Texas) ran a time of 12.10.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Marquisha Sefas (Fort Worth, Texas), junior Danielle Myricks (Willingboro, N.J.), freshman Lauren Tillman (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and Ivery clocked a time of 3:37.66 to qualify for the finals. The men's 4x100 team of freshman Braelon Davis (Dallas, Texas), Saziru, Wariner and Williamson clocked a time of 40.78.
Freshman Dominique Zeigler (Killeen, Texas) finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 7.23 meters (23-8 ¾), while junior Chris Gillis (Camden, N.J.) finished 11th with a leap of 7.16 meters (23-6). Davis clocked a time of 10.74 in the 100 meters. Sophomore Rob Morrow (Grapevine, Texas) finished 10th in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:20.03.
The Bears will have athletes competing all day Saturday, beginning with Zeigler in the high jump at 11 a.m. to 4:25 p.m., when the indoor national champion men will run the 4x400 relay. Live results are posted on www.texassports.com following the conclusion of each event.
