Heptathletes Get Early Start To Outdoor Season

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Baylor's two multi-event competitors, Jordan Willmann and Annie Housholder, started the outdoor campaign a little sooner than their teammates. The heptathlon competitors traveled to Texas A&M for the College Station Multi-Event Festival and Relays at the Frank G. Anderson Track and Field Complex. The heptathlon competition started on Thursday and concluded earlier today.

Willmann, who broke the indoor school heptathlon record at the Big 12 Championships, competed in the Gold flight. With a final total of 5,102 points, she finished fourth in her division.

Competing in the Bronze division, Housholder took 13th with a final point total of 3,971.

The rest of the Bears will open the outdoor campaign on Saturday at the Hart-Patterson Track and Field Complex as Baylor hosts the five-team Dr Pepper Invitational. Field events will start at 9 a.m. with the running events beginning at 12:30 p.m.
