WACO, Texas - Baylor track and field head coach Todd Harbour announced the addition of seven student-athletes to his 2017 signing class recently.
The newly signed Bears include Isaiah Cunningham (Sprints/Moreno Valley, Calif.), Trey Fields (400 Meters/Manvel, Texas), Elijah Gifford (400 Meters & Hurdles/Austin, Texas) and Jackson Vicary (Distance/Plano, Texas) on the men's side, while Sarah Antrich (Distance/Kingwood, Texas), Tiffani Peacock (Pole Vault/Bruceville, Texas) and Tuesdi Tidwell (Pole Vault/Early, Texas) have been added to the women's class.
"We are tremendously excited as a staff to add these athletes to the outstanding group that we already signed this fall," Harbour said. "Between the two classes, we feel that we have addressed some of our key losses and continued to add to the fine group of men and women that we already have on campus. We are proud that these athletes come from great programs across the state and nation and several have Baylor ties."
Baylor had announced the signing of Jayson Baldridge, Kennedy Bailey, Brooke Gilmore, Alex Madlock, Riley Richards, Tontyana Sanders, Jalen Seals, Morgan Stewart, Sydney Washington and Sarah Yocum to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period in November.
Isaiah Cunningham | Moreno Valley, Calif. | Rancho Verde HS | Sprints
Boasts personal bests of 6.87 in the 60-meter dash, 10.35 in the 100, 21.16 in the 200 and 47.68 in the 400 meters...Placed first in the 100 and 200 meters at 2017 Mount Carmel/ASICS Track Invite.
Coach Michael Ford Quote: "I am excited about Isaiah joining the Baylor Family. He has great range in the sprints from the 100 to 400 meters. He will help us next year in the 100 and 200 meters in the Big 12 and nationally, and will add depth for the 4x1 and 4x4 relays."
Trey Fields | Manvel, Texas | Manvel HS | 400 Meters
Owns personal bests of 21.94 in 200 meters and 46.49 in 400 meters...Quartermile time is seventh-best in nation in 2017 at prep level...Has won all three 400-meter races in 2017 outdoor season...Placed third at 2016 Texas UIL 6A State championship in 400 meters and was sixth in 2015.

We are blessed to have Trey join us."
Elijah Gifford | Austin, Texas | St. Michael's Catholic Academy | 400 Meters & Hurdles
Holds personal bests of 14.52 in 110-meter hurdles and 55.15 in the 400-meter hurdles...Finished fourth in both hurdle races (110 & 300m) at 2017 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays...Won 300-meter hurdle crown at 2016 Texas TAPPS 4A state meet and was the 110-meter hurdle runner-up...Was second and third in events, respectively at 2015 state meet.

Jackson Vicary | Plano, Texas | Plano West HS | Distance
Recorded personal-best of 15:54.4 in 5,000 meters to be 19th at UIL 6A Region 1 Championship...Won 2016 UIL 6A District 6 3,200-meter title with season-best time of 9:22.43...Lowered that PR mark to 9:21.06 to be ninth at Jesuit Sheaner Relays in 2017.

Sarah Antrich | Kingwood, Texas | Kingwood HS | Distance
Set personal bests of 2:22.39 (800m), 4:41.09 (1,500m) and 10:02.30 (3,000m) in 2017...Placed 22nd at 2016 Texas UIL 6A State Cross Country Championship with PR time of 18:27.5...Finished first in four of seven individual races in 2017.
Coach Todd Harbour Quote: "Sarah has developed nicely this spring into one of the top female distance runners in the state and also comes from Kingwood High School, which is one of the top programs in the state year in and year out. Sarah like several of our other recruits has strong Baylor ties and will continue on the great tradition of Kingwood athletes at Baylor. The first team I managed to take to the NCAA cross country meet was composed of three Kingwood girls. We are blessed to have Sarah join us."
Tiffani Peacock | Bruceville, Texas | Lorena HS | Pole Vault
Cleared 12-0 in 2017 to finish as runner-up at Robinson Rocket Relays...Won Midway Relays with 11-6 clearance...Placed sixth at 2016 Texas UIL 4A State Championships in pole vault...Was 10th at the Texas Meet of Champions, while placing ninth in 100-meter hurdles and eighth in 300-meter hurdles.
Coach Brandon Richards Quote: "I am very excited about Tiffani joining the Baylor pole vault squad. She is a very versatile athlete being a level 10 gymnast turned track athlete. She will compete in her specialty the pole vault, but she is also a tremendous multi-event athlete and will help the team in the heptathlon as well. I am proud to have her join the Baylor family."
Tuesdi Tidwell | Early, Texas | Early HS | Pole Vault
Two-time Texas UIL Region 1-3A champion pole vaulter...Placed as runner-up at 3A state meet in 2015 and was fourth a year ago...Holds school and district records with clearance of 12-6 and regional record with best of 12-2...Four-time district champion...Finished fifth at 2017 Texas Relays.
Coach Brandon Richards Quote: "I am very proud and excited about the addition of Tuesdi to the Baylor pole vault team. Being one of the top ranked high school pole vaulters in Texas, Tuesdi is a great athlete with a lot of potential. I expect her to be very competitive in the Big 12 Conference and nationally in her first year. ."
Three other athletes have committed to come to Baylor in the fall, including Venae Jessurun (Hurdles/Houston, Texas), Jeremy Meadows (Distance/Monument, Colo.) and Jonathan Sandlund (Middle Distance/St. Charles, Ill.).
