WACO, Texas - In advance of Saturday's Michael Johnson Classic, Baylor's track and field alumni will be holding a golf tournament and dinner at Twin Rivers Golf Club on Friday. Both events are open for public participation.
The golf tournament will be a four-person scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams as well as for the longest drive and closet to the pin. The deadline for entry is Wednesday at 5 p.m.
The dinner will follow the golf tournament and is slated to begin at 6 p.m. at the Twin Rivers clubhouse. The BBQ buffet will open at 6:45 p.m. with a program set to begin at 7:15 p.m. During the program, director of track and field Clyde Hart will be honored for 50 years of coaching.
The following day Baylor will continue its outdoor season as the Bears host the Michael Johnson Classic at the Hart-Patterson Track and Field Complex.
