WACO, Texas - Eight Baylor student-athletes, including seven first-team selections, were selected to the Men's and Women's Track & Field Academic All-Big 12 Teams, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Senior distance runner Megan McCoin (Houston, Texas), a biology major, was one of 20 selections to carry a 4.0 GPA. Seniors Jordan Willmann (Llano, Texas), a two-time All-American in the pentathlon and heptathlon, Erin Dixon (Kingwood, Texas) and Katherine Duncan (Kingwood, Texas) as well as juniors Lindsey Ramey (Garland, Texas) and Jasmine Opusunju (Stafford, Texas) were first-team honorees. Sophomore Lisa Cornelius (Little Elm, Texas) was a second-team selection.

Senior mathematics major Kyle King (Sulpher Springs, Texas), an indoor All-American in the 5,000 meters, and sophomore Bo Price (Atlanta, Texas), a middle distance runner, both made the first team.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a GPA of 3.20 or higher, while the second team are those who have between a 3.00 and 3.19. To qualify student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.00 or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.

The Bears return to action at the 2004 Big 12 Outdoor Championships Thursday through Saturday at John Jacobs Field in Norman, Okla.
