WACO, Texas - With only three meets left on their 2014 outdoor season schedule, the Baylor men's and women's track and field teams are both currently ranked No. 13 in the latest United States Track And Field and Country Cross Coaches Association Top 25 poll.

BU's combined ranking of No. 26 is its highest in the outdoor season since March 22, 2012 when the men were 13th and the women were 12th for a combined ranking of No. 25.

Earlier this season, the men reached a season-high mark of No. 11, but currently sit at No. 13 due to a strong season from their sprint and hurdle crew. The Bears racked up a total of 133.95 points in the computer-generated rankings. The point tally is based on 2014 outdoor performances from each team's top talent.

The bulk of Baylor's points come from freshman Trayvon Bromell, who owns the No. 1 100-meter time (10.01) and the No. 6 200-meter mark (20.23). Adding to BU's point tally is Bryce Grace in the 110-hurdles, who has the country's eighth-fastest time at 13.64. Meanwhile, both of Baylor's relay squads are ranked in the top-10 with the 4x1 unit at No. 5 and the 4x4 quartet at No. 9.

On the women's side, Baylor is at its highest ranking of the season with 107.55 points. The Lady Bears get the majority of their points from Rachel Johnson, who is fourth in the steeplechase (9:49.31) and Tiffani McReynolds, who is fourth in the 100-hurdles (12.87). The women's 4x400-meter relay squad is seventh in the country at 3:31.89.

Baylor is off from competition this weekend, but will take part in the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, May 16-18, in Lubbock, Texas.
