Kevin Mangan enters his second season as the volunteer assistant coach for Baylor's cross country and track teams. He assists coaches Todd Harbour and Jon Capron with the daily responsibilities of coaching each team.

While at Baylor, Mangan is taking graduate classes in sport pedagogy.

Before coming to Waco, Mangan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Washington in 2014. While at Washington, Mangan ran cross country and track for the Huskies.

Mangan grew up in Scotts Valley, Calif., and hails from a running family as both his mother and father were distance runners at the Division I level. At the high school level, Mangan was named All-League and All-District in cross country as a senior, after taking third in the SCCAL league meet and fourth in Central Coast Sectionals.
