WACO, Texas - This Saturday Todd Harbour will embark on his fourth season at the helm of the Baylor cross country program and will debut his 2003 men's and women's squads at Houston's MacGregor Park on Saturday, Aug. 30. The action will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Participants will compete in two-person relay teams with each runner alternating laps for a total of four trips around the course. The men's course is two miles for a total race of eight miles, while the women's course is 1.5 miles for a total distance of six miles. Joining the Bears will be Rice, Houston, UTSA and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The men's team will be anchored this season by two seniors Kyle King and Matt Chance. King was the lone NCAA qualifier for the Bears last season, finishing 79th at the Championships. Chance had several stellar races in 2002 including a 28th-place showing at the Pre-National meet and a top 25 finish at the Big 12 Championships. The women's team returns a strong nucleus from last season's squad and will look to seniors Erin Dixon and Megan McCoin for leadership. Also, Jessa Vacek Chance and Angela Marvin are expected to shine this season. Both teams have several newcomers that are expected to contribute as well.
