WACO, Texas - Nichole Jones was named the Big 12 Runner of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday. Jones took individual medalist honors at the Baylor Twilight Invitational on Friday night.

Jones (Spring, Texas) earned her third career individual title by finishing the four-kilometer course in 13:37.9 to win the race by nearly three seconds. Baylor also won the team competition as the Lady Bears placed eight runners in the top 11 finishing spots.

Last year, Jones was the consensus Big 12 Track and Field Freshman of the Year as she earned the honors at both the indoor and outdoor league championships.

The Lady Bears are back in action this weekend as the Baylor women's team travels to Provo, Utah to participate in the BYU Autumn Classic.
