DALLAS--Baylor's Brittany Brockman and Bo Price were named Big 12 Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week for meets through Sept. 11, the conference office announced today. The pair was honored for their performance at the Mean Green Opener, where Brockman and Price captured the women's and men's individual titles.
Brockman, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, won her first career individual title at the North Texas Mean Green Opener on Sept. 11, helping lead the No. 25 Baylor women's cross country team to a second-place finish. Brockman clocked 17:43 on the 5,000-meter course, defeating SMU's Karin Von Rooyen by three seconds.
Price recorded his second career individual win with a triumph at the Mean Green Opener. The junior from Atlanta, Texas, led a one-two-three-four sweep for Baylor as the Bears captured the team championship. Price ran the 8,000-meter course in 25:14, 48 seconds ahead of teammate and second-place finisher Rob Morrow. The win was Price's first since a victory at the Rice Invitational during his freshman season.
Brockman, Price and the rest of the Baylor cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, when the Bears travel to St. Paul, Minn., to race in the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational.
