WACO, Texas -
Baylor's women's cross country team cracked the nation's top-25 this week in the FinishLynx/Women's Cross Country Association national rankings. The Lady Bears enter the poll ranked 24th, marking the first time Baylor has been ranked nationally this season.
Baylor joins three other Big 12 schools that are either ranked in the top-25 or receiving votes in this week's poll. Colorado currently sits atop the field in first, while Missouri and Texas A&M each received votes.
The Baylor women are coming off a huge win at the Auburn Invitational over the weekend. The Bears topped 31 other teams, scoring just 83 points, to take the team title. Baylor knocked off two teams, in Florida State and Wichita State, who had received votes in the previous week's national poll. FSU and WSU finished second and third respectively at the Auburn meet.
The Lady Bears will put their ranking on the line when they return to action Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Pre-Nationals in Greenville, S.C.
