WACO, Texas – In preparation for the NCAA Championships in November, Baylor men’s cross country will have an early look at the championship course as it competes at the Adidas Pre-National Cross Country Meet Saturday at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
The 8,000-kilometer course will begin at 9 a.m. CT and will be broadcast on FloTrack to paid subscribers. 51 teams are slated to race in Louisville across three races, including No. 2 BYU, No. 19 Georgetown and No. 24 Ole Miss in the Bears’ race.
“We are excited to go mix it up with some really good teams and are committed to better results,” assistant head coach Jon Capron said. “We will be significantly tested but are more prepared.”
The men will have seven of its team members traveling to the meet, including seniors Eric Anderson and Jordan West who competed at Pre-Nationals as freshmen in 2014. In Terre Haute, the Bears took 38th place and look to improve after placing 19th at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational last month.
“It’s time for everyone to demonstrate their fitness,” Capron said. “This is just a meet, but it is an important piece leading up to conference and regionals. It is time to be ready -- preparations are almost over.”
