Struck out four in 3.1 innings while picking up the win against Oral Roberts (Feb. 23) ... Followed that with a 4.1-inning, six-strikeout relief appearance against then-No. 9 Texas (March 3), grabbing his second victory of the year ... Improved his record to 3-0 with a win in relief at Texas-Arlington (March 13) ... Added yet another win against Kansas (March 16) after throwing 2.1 shut-out, no-hit innings in relief ... Made three more appearances before going down for the year and having surgery on his right (throwing) arm to relieve an entrapment of his median nerve in the bicep area; the problem caused a tenderness in one particular spot in his arm when he released the ball on a pitch ...
