BU Head Coach Steve Smith
On the team playing from behind tonight:
"[Houston] didn't do anything to aid [a comeback] and that is sometimes what you need. I thought that from a pitching standpoint we were really good coming out of the pen, but they were too. It was kind of a stalemate there for the last four or five innings. I give them credit. They got some hits early. When Sterling came out I thought his first inning was pretty crisp. Once they had a chance to get a feel for him and the number of fastballs he was throwing, they took some pretty good swings at him."
On Sterling Wynn's start tonight:
"He has got a lot on that fast ball that, honestly, squaring him up the way that they did, particularly at the bottom of the order, it surprised me. He would have to have been in the middle of the plate I would guess without looking at the tape. His stuff was good, his velocity was good -- they just took some good swings at him."
On coming up short in the game tonight:
"I liked the lineup, the way that it looked. I thought that they threw the ball extremely well. Their starter had just really good stuff. He came into this game without having a walk in 16 innings or so and I know we got two out of him. Their guy coming out of the bullpen, [Dylan] Rucker, was very good and they did their job."
