Sophomore 1B Max Muncy
On the comeback in the ninth inning:
"It shows we are never going to give up on a game, but that is how we should be playing the entire game and it shouldn't come down to us having to realize we need to come back. Us coming back in the ninth showed that we are not going to give up on anybody."
On his homerun at-bat :
"Throughout the game he was actually the first pitcher I have seen all year that has thrown me fastballs inside. My second at-bat he got in on me really good and I hit a dribbler back to him, so my third at-bat I went up there and I knew he was going to try to come inside again, so I geared up waiting for that pitch. When he finally threw it, it was a fastball on the inner half of the plate and I just kind of turned on it. When I hit it I didn't think it was actually going to go out the way the wind was blowing, but it went."
On bouncing back :
"We just have to forget about it and move on to tomorrow. We have got to come out ready to play tomorrow, first inning, first pitch, we got to be ready to go."
On having eight hits, but only two runs :
"We couldn't put together all the hits in a row. We had one hit in one inning and one hit in another inning. When we had one guy on we didn't do anything with it. We were getting the hits, we just need to get them one after another.
Junior P Tyler Bremer
On his first four innings of work:
"I just wanted to get after these guys. I was kind of surprised at how much of free swingers they were, but I tried to use it to my advantage. "
On pitching around the error in the fifth inning:
"As a pitcher you are always told to control just what you can control. Lawton (Langford) made a great play in the first place just to get to that ball and I think he just got a little over-excited."
On the pitches that working for him on the night:
"Early in the game the ball was down with my fastball. My slider was really good this weekend and it was alright today, but I was just leaving it up a little bit. The curveball was a really good pitch for me today and it helped me get through those last couple of innings."
