Head coach Steve Smith
On the game:
"It was a very well pitched game on both sides. I thought their two young guys, both freshman left-handers, threw really well. We threw a lot of guys and I thought all of our guys threw well too. Any time you play close games like this, any little thing can turn the game and there were just some really interesting things that happened there late in the game that just cost us."
On Max Garner:
"We don't know a whole lot yet. He's going to be extremely sore in the morning. Hopefully there's not a break or anything. He got hit right on the back of his right elbow. No team can afford to have a lot of guys hurt and I'm sure we'll be without Max this weekend. That's a pretty tough one to lose right now, because our issue clearly is the back-end of our bullpen and he's been one of our better guys. We're just going to have to dig down deep and hope it's not a fracture and get Max going again as soon as we can."
On upcoming series vs. Texas:
"We've got Friday and Saturday in Waco and then we're in Austin for Sunday afternoon. Texas has just been so strong on the mound over the last several years and hopefully that's going to run its course in a year or so, but we'll have our hands full. You got to get out there and play and just see what happens."
