WACO, Texas - Baylor scored a season-high 16 runs, and Josh Turley held Texas to only two runs in 7.0 innings pitched, as the Bears extended a school record with their 22nd straight win at Baylor Ballpark, 16-5, on Thursday night.

Baylor (41-11, 19-3 Big 12) became the first Big 12 team to finish a conference season undefeated at home (12-0). The Bears tied their season high with 19 hits and had seven doubles. Nathan Orf went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored to lead seven Bears with multi-hit games, and eight Baylor batters collected RBI.

"I thought we competed well at the plate," head coach Steve Smith said. "A lot of guys had good quality at-bats. We got some guys out there in a big time game, and that's always good."

Turley (8-0) picked up the win by holding Texas to two runs on five hits in 7.0 innings. It was his sixth straight start of at least 7.0 innings, and he's allowed five combined earned runs in those six starts to drop his season ERA to 1.67.

"Josh looked like he was having fun tonight and just enjoying himself," Smith said. "He was throwing three or four different pitches and even broke out his knuckle ball tonight. I was glad to see him come out strong after that long inning."

Texas (29-19, 13-9 Big 12) used five different pitchers in the game. Starter Dillon Peters (4-1) suffered the first loss of his career after allowing four runs on five hits in 1.2 innings.

Turley didn't allow a baserunner past second base until a two-out home run in the top of the sixth cut Baylor's lead to 5-2. He threw 64 of his 94 pitches for strikes, walked one and struck out four.

Orf got the offense going by delivering a single on the 10th pitch of his at-bat leading off the first. He doubled on the 10th pitch of his next at-bat, and he doubled on the ninth pitch of his third official at-bat in the sixth. Orf also tied a Big 12 record when he was hit by a pitch for the 27th time this season in the fourth inning.

Ludy, Logan Vick and Dan Evatt combined on three straight RBI doubles in the first to stake Turley to a 3-0 lead. The Bears added on from there, scoring one in the second and another in the fourth. After Texas cut the lead to three runs in the top of the sixth, the Bears responded with seven runs in the bottom half to break the game open.

Max Muncy delivered a two-run homer to extend Baylor's lead back to five runs at 7-2, and Jake Miller added a two-run double off the wall in left-center as part of the seven-run, eight-hit inning. Miller had a two-run single in the seventh, giving him a career-high four RBI. Wes Mercurio capped the Baylor scoring with a pinch-hit two-run single in the eighth.

Vick finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored, while Muncy added three RBI and Ludy finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and one RBI. Ludy, Evatt, Tyler Bremer and Joey Hainsfurther received their Baylor diplomas prior to the game after missing graduation ceremonies while on the road last week.

Jonathan Walsh collected a pair of two-run homers to drive in four of Texas' five runs in the game. The Longhorns added a run in the ninth against reliever Austin Stone, who worked the final 2.0 innings to close out the win.

The series shifts to Austin for a 6:30 p.m. game on Friday and a 2 p.m. game on Saturday, with both games televised on the Longhorn Network. Following the Texas series, Baylor heads to Oklahoma City for the Big 12 Championship, which begins Wednesday. Game times will be announced Saturday night.
