Baylor Head Coach Steve Smith
"I thought we competed well at the plate. A lot of guys had good quality at bats. We got some guys out there in a big time game and that's always good."
On well-hit balls in the game:
"Hits cover a multitude of sins. We didn't get the bunt down early in the game, but we end up getting a run. We hit the some doubles early in the game that helped get our offense going. The offense did their job tonight and we got the win and that's all that matters."
On overall impressions of Josh:
"Josh looked like he was having fun tonight and just enjoying himself. He was throwing three or four different pitches and even broke out his knuckle ball tonight. I was glad to see him come out strong after that long inning."
Baylor Outfielder Nathan Orf
On being a lead off hitter:
"At the beginning of year coach told me to be pest so that's kind of the role that a lead off hitter should have and tonight was a good of example that."
On having long at bats:
" I'm not trying to foul off pitches, but that's the way it happened tonight. I went up there looking for a pitch to hit, but they weren't giving me anything I could handle so I kept battling and was able to eventually come out with a hit."
Short Stop Jake Miller
On the rough start:
"Just got to keep grinding and remember that every at bat is important. Just have to bounce back and just move on to the next pitch."
On the seven run inning:
"Sometimes when we are down and they score we usually respond really well and get plugged in and keep battling."
Baylor pitcher Josh Turley
On the Start:
"It was a lot of fun. My offense was backing me up and gave me some room to breath which allowed me to just relax and have fun and pitch the way I know how to."
On the Big 12 championship:
"It was huge and it was nice to be able to enjoy it with a victory. We don't want to lose focus now. We just have to move on to our next goal which is to win the Big 12 Tournament."
