Head Coach Steve Smith
Thoughts on the game:
"I didn't think pitching would be the difference in the game. I don't think we pitched incredibly poor, but they pitched very well and that was the difference in the game."
On the performance of Kolt Browder:
"I was glad to see that. Today was his first college outing and he really competed. He didn't look like a first-time guy and he was aggressive. He was very effective."
Sophomore Designated Hitter Dan Evatt
On his performance:
"I was seeing the ball really well. I just continued to make adjustments and came out ready to go. I saw some good pitches to hit today and took advantage of it."
On the team's offense:
"We've got some guys that can swing well. Everybody is feeling well and we're not going to have to rely on our pitching. Of course, our pitching will have to do well, but I don't think it's going to be a situation where we're going to have to rely on pitching at all times and give up two or three runs a game. I think we're going to do fine and put up plenty of runs."
