*Baylor is 17-8 midweek games under third-year head coach Steve Rodriguez with a 12-7 home mark and 5-1 road record.

*Senior preseason All-American/NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List closer Troy Montemayor ranks tied for second among active NCAA DI leaders in career saves (29), tied for 41st in career relief appearances (66) and tied for 48th in career appearances (67).

*In its first nine games, Baylor's pitching staff has posted a 3.12 ERA and .215 opponent batting average, allowing 36 runs (27 earned) on 58 hits and 53 walks with 70 strikeouts in 78 innings. BU's starting staff of Cody Bradford, Kyle Hill, Hayden Kettler and Tyler Thomas has been even better in their six starts, notching a 2.77 ERA and .216 opponent batting average, giving up 21 runs (15 earned) on 37 hits and 29 walks with 41 strikeouts in 48.2 innings.

*Baylor underclassmen have account for 57.7 percent of the team's runs (17, 54.8), hits (41, 58.6), extra base hits (13, 61.9), RBI (14, 50.0) and walks (26, 63.4) on offense, while posting a 3.04 ERA on the mound and accounting for 64.1 percent of the team's wins (2, 50.0), innings pitched (56.1, 72.2) and strikeouts (49, 70.0).
